Kaipo is currently an Owner for The Club (TC), the Boys Head Coach at Skyridge High School.

He is an entrepreneur at heart. He has wanted to start his own club for years and he finally did it in 2023 for both boys and girls. He is a Co-Owner of The Club, nicknamed TC. He has been coaching for 10 plus years with his first coaching experience right out of High School. He coached the Freshman boys team at Foothill HS in Las Vegas, NV.

Although he had been in the volleyball gym his entire life, his Mom was 6 months pregnant with him at the end of her Sophomore season at BYU, he didn’t officially start playing himself until he moved to Maui, HI for his Senior year in 2010-2011. Because he was quick and explosive, he was put in the middle.

After High School he served a two year church mission to Nashville, TN and upon his return he moved to Utah and enrolled at UVU. He played his 1st year at UVU on the B team and with hard work, determination and great improvement his 2nd year he made the Varsity team. 

His coach at UVU, Tom Peterson, was hired at SVU to start the first sanctioned Men’s volleyball program and he asked Kaipo and a few other players to make that move with him and be a part of history, and Kaipo did. While at SVU from 2017 - 2022 he was a 4X CVC All Conference Player, SVU was 2X Conference Champions and they made 3 NCAA appearances including a Semi Finalist finish at the Final Four. 

Kaipo's Freshman year (2017) they were competing as an independent program and he finished in the top 10 in the NCAA with 729 total assists.

His Sophomore year (2018) they achieved their first national ranking, reaching #8 in the polls, and he finished in the top 15 in the NCAA with a total of 821 assists.

Kaipo's Junior year (2019) SVU won the CVC Conference Championship for the first time in history and he was named to the CVC All Conference 3rd Team.  SVU's highest ranking that season was #8 and they made their first NCAA tournament appearance, but they lost in the first round in a close 5 set match to Wells.

His Senior year (2020) he was named to the Jim Coleman Invitational All Tournament Team and made CVC All Conference 2nd Team. Unfortunately the NCAA tournament was cancelled that year due to Covid. That summer Kaipo tried out for the USA Men’s Collegiate National Team and was named as an alternate. He also played Rugby at SVU.

His bonus Senior year (2021) SVU won the CVC Conference Championship, Kaipo was named to the All Tournament Team and he also made CVC All Conference 2nd Team. Their highest ranking in the polls that year was #2 and they made it to the Final Four, losing in the Semi's in a close 5 set match, 13-15 in the 5th to Benedictine.

He was fortunate to be able to compete 1 more year at SVU (2022) and that year he made CVC All Conference 1st Team and  had a match high of 69 assists. Their highest rank that season was #2 and they made it to the NCAA tournament but lost in the first round to St. Joseph.

In the CVC Conference record books... For individual records Kaipo still holds the record as 5th all time for total Assists with 2,842. For team records SVU sits at the top of the list with the highest team Hitting Percentage of .762 against Immaculata on 2/8/2019. Kaipo is also 4th all time for 69 Assists in a 5 set match and set his team to a team high of 73 kills in that same match on 4/1/2022 against UC Santa Cruz. During Kaipo's time at SVU they are first in Consecutive CVC Wins during Regular Season with 25 and Consecutive CVC Wins during Regular Season and Tournament play with 29. They are 2nd all time in Consecutive Sets Won in CVC Play with 28 in 2019 and 3rd with 17 in 2021.

When Kaipo left SVU in 2022 he moved into the world of coaching. He was hired as the Boys Club Director at Club 801 and was coaching a girl’s club team there too. He was also hired at Skyridge HS to coach the Girls JV team.

In 2023 he was hired as the first Boys Head Coach at Skyridge HS and they finished 3rd in State in the first sanctioned season in Utah in 2024. He continues to play as much as he can even with his busy coaching schedule.
